Mama says,
“No, you don’t have anxiety”
No, Mom
Of course I don’t.
Those times I lock my self in my room
And my stomach churns at the thought of the world outside
Those times I wake up with no energy
With no desire to do anything
With the weight of everything in my shoulders
And I drag my feet at everything
And I lock myself in bathrooms rather than socialise
And not brushing my teeth in the bathroom
Because I can’t stand the sight of my own reflection
And those days where I feel dizzy
Just thinking about having to go to school, Mom?
No, Mom.
Of course, I don’t have anxiety.
Based on a true story. I’m better now. But once I saw an article about foods that help lessen anxiety, and since I went to the doctors and found out I have low iron in my blood, I’ve become a bit of a health nut, researching all the foods high in iron, and trying to eat more of them. So at lunch one day, I started talking about how good the meal was for me because it was beef (which is high in iron) and avocados, which help with anxiety. And my mom said “You don’t have anxiety.” I didn’t reply. But she still thinks I’m perfectly fine. But I’m not.
So there is what I wished I could have said.

Keep in mind, this is very raw, and unedited. I scribbled it out, and felt like sharing it with people. I might edit it later but don’t count on it.
